Our Mission
Founded in the fall of 2017 by seven Burnaby Central Secondary students, Beyond STEM is a youth-led organization dedicated to helping Lower Mainland students find and pursue their passions in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Beyond STEM hopes to engage other members of the community with the STEM field and allow them to discover future education and career opportunities in STEM. The group hosts many events throughout the school year to connect students with professionals in the STEM field, including career fairs, seminars, and conferences.
The Club
Based at Burnaby Central, Beyond STEM is also a club for students that are passionate about STEM. Each week, club members help plan events and fundraisers and take part in fun activities related to the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields, which are led by the Beyond STEM Executive and Ambassador Teams. Meetings are held every Wednesday at lunch in room B308 and everybody is welcome!
